Killer Pranks was a game that was made during the global game jam 2024. 
the theme for the global game jam was "make me laugh" the first thing we did as a team of 7 was sat down and tried to think of what we thought would be an enjoyable take on this theme. hearing other groups around us go down the route of jokes we decided to go with pranks that got sinister as the game went along. we had 6 pranks planned but due to time constraints we settled on getting two finished. the inspiration for this project was the US version of the TV show the office. 
My role in this project was level design and UI. the first thing i did was design the main room by prefabing computers and desks so i could easily place them in a format that would make the level look like a 90's early 2000's office. once the computers where in place i spent more time decorating the office and adding side rooms for the player to explore. once the level was boxed out i created materials in quixel mixer to add more color and life to the project.
as well as level design and UI i also help implement other systems such as the audio used in the main menu and helped with coding in the pranks and getting the CCTV system in. this system served as a way to monitor the bosses position so you could keep an eye on where he was because if he caught you then you would lose the game. the CCTV cameras are just fixed cameras in an array that cycle through as you press the E key. the unused cameras are then deactivated to save resources. 
A lot of work was put into the main menu for this game as we wanted it to stand out against the other entries at the university jam site. we felt that having a strong looking level and menu system would help us stand out against the large amount of entries that mostly specialized in 2D.
